Scholarship available at CIIT Vehari

CIIT follows a well spelt-out modus operandi to provide financial assistance to students who are good in studies but are handicapped due to financial constraints. A special fund is allocated to cater the needs of the deserving students. For this purpose Financial Support Program Committees operates at CIIT Vehari Campus to look into such cases. The different arrays of facilities which are provided under the monitory assistance program are briefly discussed below. Read further and apply for the financial assistance as required;

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is provided to students on need-cum-merit basis. Those students are eligible who are in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial problems. Financial assistance is provided to the students after the first semester. At least 80% attendance is mandatory in all the registered courses and no disciplinary action or proceedings should be in progress or pending against the student at the time of application for financial assistance.

All the employees of CIIT contribute 1% of gross salary in addition to the 2 % contributed by CIIT towards Taleem Fund. This fund is distributed in students on need-cum merit basis in every semester as Financial Assistance to meet their tuition fee expenses. The student has to apply through his/her department and after giving interview to the Financial Support Program Committee he/she gets a partial waiver in the tuition fee, on need-cum-merit basis.

Kinship/Siblings Concession

When two siblings are concurrently students of CIIT, Rs. 8000/- fee concession to each sibling is admissible provided both maintain good academic standing. This concession will be subject to an application supported by:

  • Copies of NIC or “B” form of the students
  • Copy of father’s NIC
  • Copy of paid challan forms for the recent semester

CIIT Scholarship for Academic Excellence Program (CSP)

Position in a Semester Students who demonstrate academic excellence by achieving outstanding positions at the end of the semester in each degree program on a campus shall be awarded merit scholarship as below;

Important Notes:

  • The above scheme of scholarships is applicable for class strength of 150 students or more.
  • The number of scholarships will be admissible as per table given.
  • Positions will be determined at the overall enrollment of students in a particular semester.
  • In case, two or more students secure the same GPA, position will be determined on the basis of the total marks / percentage of marks secured in the semester.
  • Position scholarships will be admissible if the GPA is not less than 3.70/4.00 and student is not availing any other scholarship/assistance.

Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Program

The students having Domicile of Balochistan, Gilgit/Baltistan, FATA, Interior Sindh, South Punjab, Malakand, Kohistan and D.I. Khan areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to apply in the scholarship of Prime Ministers Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Less Developed Areas (Selected Regions). The Masters, MS/M.Phil students having domicile of above mentioned areas studying/intend to secure admission at CIIT Vehari can avail this opportunity.

The detail is available separately for each area. However, the tuition fee facility will be provided to all PhD students of these areas studying or intend to secure admission in any public sector university of Pakistan.

PM’s program for FATA & GB (Tuition Fee Payment Scheme)

  • This scheme envisages that students from Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA will be provided tuition fee by the federal government
  • Offer scholarships for PhD students of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA.

Benevolent Fund Scholarships

  • Provides financial support for employees of Federal Government.
  • Scheme includes stipend for Bachelors and Masters level students.
  • Applications available at SFAO, CIIT Vehari.

Worker Welfare Fund

  • These scholarships are for talented children of industrial workers.
  • These scholarships are also awarded to those workers who intend to improve their educational qualification / skill.

CIIT Endowment Fund Scholarships (CIITEF)

  • Provides under-graduate level scholarship.
  • For high academic achievers with limited financial resources.
  • With 70% marks in both Matric and Intermediate.
  • Application forms are available online along with admission form.

Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) Scholarships

  • Scholarships to talented and needy students from Punjab province.
  • Applicants having a Punjab domicile
  • 60% marks in intermediate can apply in bachelor level.
  • 2.5 GPA is required for Masters Level Scholarships.
  • Family Income is less than 30,000
  • Passed last degree from Govt of Punjab School/College.
  • There should be no gap between passing Intermediate and taking admission in Bachelor program

PEEF Scholarships for Master Level Programs

PEEF has allocated 20% of its annual scholarship quota for Master Level Education. These scholarships are awarded to talented and deserving students enrolled in Public sector Universities of the Punjab. In order to be considered eligible for PEEF Master level scholarships; the student must fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

These Scholarships will be awarded to students fulfilling the criteria given below;

  1. Students having Punjab domicile
  2. Secured at least 60% marks or a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in BA/BSc./B.Com./BS/BBA etc.Annual examination from Punjab.
  3. Students who already possess MA/MSc./MS/M.Phil degree are not eligible to apply for PEEF Master level scholarship
  4. Passed the examination as a regular student from:
    • Government Institution (OR)
    • Private Affiliated Institution (OR)
    • As Private candidate
  5. Secured admission as a full time / regular student in one of the partner universities in the same academic year as of passing the annual examination (see list of partner universities)
  6. Monthly family income equal to or less than Rs. 30,000/-
  7. Fulfilled the criteria for award of scholarship / financial aid of the respective partner University / Higher Education Institution.
  8. Not a beneficiary of any other scholarship / financial assistance either from the university or any other institution

Following monthly scholarship stipend rates are admissible for the year 2013-14.
  1. PEEF will reimburse tuition fee
  2. PEEF will also pay scholarship stipend to the selected scholars at the following rates:
    Day scholar Rs. 3,000/- per month.
    Boarder Rs. 5,000/- per month.

Payment of Tuition Fees 100% (As per terms of PEEF Master level scholarship policy) to both day scholars & Boarders

  1. PEEF scholarship stipends are disbursed on bi annual basis.
  2. The calculation of tuition fee is made on the basis of information provided by the Partner University / Higher Education Institution.
  3. The next scholarship installment will only be released on the basis of acknowledgement of the previous scholarship stipend and satisfactory academic performance assessment report submitted by the university / higher education institution.

HEC Need based Scholarship:

  • Provides fully funded scholarship
  • for study at undergraduate &graduate level in all disciplines
  • Provides expenses like University Fee plus stipend

Pak-USAID Merit and Needs Based Scholarship Program (MNBSP)

Brief History:

The Pak-USAID Merit and Needs based Scholarship Program Phase-II is focused on providing opportunities for access to higher education especially to under privileged candidates who, despite possessing academic merit, are unable to finance their education. The scholarship is not restricted to tuition only, but extends to accommodation and living expenses. The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved the program at a total cost of Rs. 2,954.808 million in its meeting held on 6th September 2013. The Project is funded by Government of United States of America as Grant in Aid.

The Phase-I of the program was initiated in 2004 at eleven (11) universities with scope of 1807 scholarships. It is the pride of the program that all the scholarships are awarded, 94 percent of the scholarship recipients had graduated in the semester they expected to graduate.

Program Objectives:

  • To enable the academically qualified, yet financially needy, Pakistani students to continue university studies in selected private and public universities of Pakistan in the fields of Agriculture, Medical, Business, Social Science and Engineering.
  • To enhance the institutional capacity of the Higher Education Commission of the Government of Pakistan and local public and private sector universities in designing and implementing MNBSP Phase II.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships:

  • The applicant must be a Pakistani/AJK National
  • Financial assistance & scholarships are available for study at undergraduate & graduate level in the following disciplines at the selected 29 Pakistani universities and degree awarding institutions.
  1. Engineering
  2. Information Technology (MCS, BSSE, BSCS, BSTN)

Note:

50% Female Seats:Women’s participation in the education sector is very low. This activity will ensure that at least 50% of the awarded scholarships go to women, especially those coming from remote and vulnerable areas of Pakistan, who are financially needy, and meet admission criteria of the selected 29 partner universities.

Details of Scholarship

Students need to compete for securing admission in the approved discipline at the participating institution as per admission policy of the institution and be enrolled in Undergraduate (4 and 5) and Graduate (2 Years and 3.5 years) programs.Only those students who are enrolled in first semester/professional year in the respective courses offered by the participating institutions are eligible to apply.The eligibility of a candidate is linked to neediness of the candidate as determined & assessed by the financial background of his/her family.

Comprehensive scholarship offered under this program provides funds for the following expenses:

ICT R&D Scholarship

  • Provides fully funded 4 year undergraduate degree.
  • From rural/non-metropolitan areas of Pakistan.
  • Objective is to develop human resource capacity in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Pakistan.

Fauji Foundation Scholarship

  • Fauji Foundation is the Scholarship for Excellence for wards of Armed Forces employees.
  • Applications can be downloaded online.

CIIT Vehari Special Scholarships

CIIT Vehari offers special scholarships to new admitted students on the basis of their marks in previous degree/certificate. The scholarship is continued in the subsequent semesters subject to certain continuation criterion that is told to all the students at the time of admission. Important Note

  • For Admissions Scholarship (1), the student who would not maintain the continuation criteria and drops his/her CGPA in any lower bracket (e.g. from dropping from 3.25 to 3.00) then his/her scholarship will be re-adjusted to the scholarship amount of that bracket. If some student drops his/her CGPA below 2.50 CGPA his/her scholarship will be discontinued.
  • The students falling in lowest marks-scholarship bracket if once drop their CGPA below 2.5 or 2.75 (as the case may be) & improve their CGPA in next semester will re-claim their scholarship but this will be allowed once in their degree.
  • Students who improve their CGPA to the continuation criteria CGPA of upper bracket will not be entitled for the upper bracket scholarship amount.
  • The scholarship amount in a semester will be considered deductable from total semester fee.
  • In any semester a student can’t have multiple scholarships. These scholarship schemes are subjected to regular admission as per CIIT admission eligibility criteria.
  • The campus has the right to cancel any scholarship on the basis of internal reasons.
  • Administration has right to discontinue or revoke the scholarship on the basis of discipline, academics and other performance parameters.
